Walterstown faced St.Colmcilles in the latest round of the B league in Walterstown on Saturday night. Walterstown started the game the strongest racing into an early 2-01 to 0-0 lead with Brian O’Connell and David Donnellan scoring the goals in the first 5 minutes. St.Colmcilles got off the mark shortly after however Walterstown added a 3rd goal in response with Sean Irwin getting the goal.

St.Colmcilles did start to settle into the game a bit more and scored 5 unaswered points to bring it to just 4 between the sides. Walterstown finished the half with 3 further points with St.Colmcilles adding 2 points to leave 5 between the sides at the break.

Both sides traded scores early in the second half with St.Colmcilles opening the scoring with a point inside the first minute to bring it back to 4 between the sides, Brian O’Connell responded before St.Colmcilles once again brought it back to a 4 point gap. Walterstown however started to take complete control with David Donnellan adding 2 points before Joey Farrelly scored a 4th goal for Walterstown to leave 9 between the sides and end St.Comcilles hopes of getting back into the game with just 10 minutes left. David Donnellan and Ronan Barry finished off the scoring for the home side with St.Colmcilles adding a point late on however Walterstown ran out deserving winners and remain in top spot of the league
