Ashbourne squeaked by Walterstown by a solitary point to claim the Paddy O Brien cup and deny Walterstown the treble.
It was an extremely tight and competitive game throughout with neither Team ever controlling the game and either could have won.
The teams were tided most way through the match , with Adam Treanor scoring the first point of the game. Ashbourne hit back with a goal and a point to take the lead.
Sean McGinley then scored a point , and Jamie Flynn kicked the point of the game from an incredibly tight angle. Two more points from Adam Treanor and 1 form Ashbourne say the teams level at
half time 1:02 to 5 points.
The second half was equally as tight. It was well into the second half before any side registered a score with Adam Treanor again the first to score a point for Walterstown . He went on to score another but Ashbourne got two of there own before finally kicking a third point to take the lead, which they held onto the end.
Hard luck to the lads, but it still has been a fantastic season and the whole club are very proud of you.
