Moynalvey were 3 points behind with time running out however they were awarded a controversial penalty and Ciaran Ennis converted to leave the sides level with time up.

 

Moynalvey started the brightest scoring 2 early points, however Walterstown got off the mark through Brian O’Connell and added a further 4 unanswered points to go 3 points ahead, Moynalvey soon cut the gap back to 2 points. Sean Irwin put the Blacks back 3 ahead before Brian O’Connell scored his 4th point of the match to give Walterstown a 4 point lead going in at the break – Half Time score Walterstown 0-7 v Moynalvey 0-3

 

Christopher Farrelly opened the scoring in the 2nd half to further extend Walterstown’s lead however Moynalvey responded and turned the game around by scoring 1-03 without reply to give them a 1 point lead. Brian O’Connell had the sides level again with a point in the 10th minute of the half. Both sides failed to score from play throughout the rest of the second half, Brian O’Connell added 3 further frees and a Ciaran Murphy 45 gave the Blacks a 4 point lead. Moynalvey reduced the gap to 3 points with 20 minutes gone, with both sides struggling for scores it looked like Walterstown would hold out for the win, however Moynalvey were awarded a contoversial penalty in the last minute and Ciaran Ennis coverted to earn his team a draw.
