The Blacks are Back! The sun was out; laughter reverberated around our grounds; the car park was packed; it was finally time for the juveniles return! And boy was it fantastic to welcome them through the gates again.

Monday, April 26, the day the Irish Government allowed U18s return to outdoor training and they came to Walterstown in their droves. In all six our juvenile teams returned to training on the first night back. We welcomed our U11 boys, our U12 boys, our U13 boys and our U15 boys. Meanwhile, our U14B girls and our U18 girls also returned to the training fields.

Our dedicated coaches, eager to get back down to business, came through the gates early. So too did our Covid Supervisors. All was in order. All rules adhered to. A little slice of normal life was permitted. Sure ’tis only mighty!

Juveniles Return:

Throughout this week all of our juvenile teams will retreat from their forced vacation and we are looking forward to seeing each and every one of them. We are particularly looking forward to welcoming our newest players; the U5s of 2021. They are out for the very first time on Friday week, May 7 at 6pm and a very warm Walterstown welcome awaits them. Indeed we have record numbers starting at U5 level this year. In fact they will be our largest group at the club by a considerable amount so our future looks to be, not bright, but sparkling!

And remember folks, all new members are more than welcome to join our club. No experience necessary. All you need is to be living in our parishes of either Johnstown or Walterstown.

You will find all the details of our juvenile training times here and should you require any further information please contact our Juvenile Secretary Mike on secretarybng.walterstown.meath@gaa.ie.

And don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all the latest club news.
