Walterstown 46 Dunderry 22

This was our last group game of the Summer league and the boys made it 4 wins from 4 games. As normal we had two teams playing at the same time. Both teams started a bit sluggish and probably down to having played the night before in the street leagues in testing conditions. The games went as follows;

Aidan and Ian’s team;
The lads started well and raced in to a 6 scores to 1 lead, but the tiredness from playing the night before kicked in and the boys let Dunderry back in to the game and the half time score was Walterstown 14, Dunderry 10 and Dunderry finished the stronger. However, after a very welcome break at half time for the boys they realised they were in a game and stepped it up in the second half. Going on to win 28 scores to 12. The team was as follows; Adam Murphy, Mark McGrane, Karl Cooney, Eoghan McCague, Zohaib Ali, John Cullen, Daire Cosgrove, Adam Quinn, Oisin Boland, Oisin Perry and Charlie Reilly.

Ed and Ger’s team;
In the other game Walterstown battled to an 18 to 10 points win. Racing to a 7 – 1 lead early in the 1st half, Dunderry gave the boys a fright by bringing the game level 7 all at half time. Walterstown regrouped & pulled away with good team play & direct football. A tough game with a lot of lessons learned.
The team lined out as follows
P Davis, C Soady, B McGuinness, R. Maxwell, S McKenna, E Roche, T Campbell O’brien, L O’Conner, P Freeman, M Farrell, C Lenehan

The boys now play Dunderry again in the semi final, next Sunday 2nd @ 1.oopm and the winners will play either St Cuthberts or Skryne in the final, probably the following week.

Well done Boys.
