U12 Division 1 Final Walterstown V Navan O Mahonys Tuesday 21/06/2016
The second final on the evening the Under 12 A girls took on O Mahonys . In what was a very close game overall Walterstown registered the first scores of the game through Elsa Mullen and Michaela McMahon in the first quarter to give Walterstown a two point lead. Sinead Treanor extended Walterstown lead to 3 points before O Mahonys registered their first score of the evening via a free on the stroke of half time.

O Mahonys struck with a goal early in the third quarter before Michaela McMahon registered her second point of the evening to see the teams all square going into the final quarter. Walterstown keeper Rachel Carroll pulled of a great save in the fourth quarter to deny O Mahonys another goal. They however grabbed a point shortly after. With the clock running down a looping shot from O Mahonys went over the bar and guaranteed O Mahonys the cup.

Hard luck girls , managers and coaches, but reaching a Division 1 final is a great achievement, and you gave O Mahonys a right battle, with some of the girls having played in the earlier final, you all have a lot to be proud of, and no doubt we shall see you in many a final to come.
That wraps up the Ladies and Girls tournaments until after the summer break. Five finals reached and two won.
