Walterstown travelled to Ratoath for their sixth round division 6 match , on a wet and windy Saturday morning.
Early pressure from the girls paid off , with Sinead Traynor getting a goal with a nice close range finish. Caitlin Fahey extended the lead with a well taken point, before Lauren Genocchi scored the games second goal. Walterstown were dominating but we’re a little wasteful in front of goal. Ratoath got a point back, but Walterstown finished the second half as they started with Aimee Kilroy shooting over to round off a nice team move , before Sinead Donnellan cheekily lobbed the goal keeper from a free kick to give the girls a healthy lead .
Ratoath started the second half well , working Walterstowns back line.Katelyn Mc Cabe was everywhere, tackling hard and kicking in to space to relieve pressure . Ratoath got a goal and two points without reply , to narrow the deficit . Walterstown fought back when Annie Martin fed Aimee down the line ,who squared to Sarah Hussey before coolly slotting home. In the closing stages, Annie got forward from midfield to round off the scoring with a nicely taken goal.
