Walterstown under 14 headed into their 2nd game of the Div 1 campaign looking for 2 wins from 2 , they faced St Peters/Paul’s of Dunboyne. After missing a certain goal in the opening minutes of the game the Walterstown lads soon composed themselves and hit the back of the net with a finely driven shot by Sean mcGinley, the Walterstown lads soon took a strong hold on the game with 3 more scores in a row from Adam Treanor, Luke Cullen & Connor McGuire. It was a fairly competitive game until Dunboyne had one of the players send off after 15 minutes! With their numerical advantage our lads push on in the last minutes of the half to lead at half time by 6-3 to 0-0, The second half started as the first with the Walterstown lads on the attack , Adam Barrett added an early goal and 2 frees from the ground to put the result in little doubt! Timi Sowunmi scored a second half hat-trick in 15 minutes ! and also narrowly missed a long range point attempt !!! Walterstown made 6 changes with 20 minutes to go and all subs that came on all contributed to the end score, Final Score was – Dunboyne 1-0 Walterstown 13-7. Next up for the lads is Div 1 champs Ratoath in Walterstown on Saturday 28th March.
