Under 14s had a tough start to their Div 1 campaign with a home tie against Sy Colmcilles on Saturday afternoon. After a solid showing in the Feile competition the Walterstown lads were no longer an unknown team.
With St Colmcilles going through the under 13’s league undefeated until the semi finals we knew we were playing a determined and strong outfit.
Walterstown were playing with a very strong wind in the first and didn’t capitalize on their advantage as they trailed by 3 points at half time. HT score was 0:1 – 1:3 in favour of the visitors.
After regrouping at half time the Walterstown lads came out looking like a different team , playing with ball in hand they managed to get in front 10 mins into the second half, a lead which they didn’t let go ….. Walterstown hit the net 3 times in the second half as they ran out 5 point winners in the end,

Final score was – Walterstown 4:1 – St Colmcilles 1:5

Next up for the lads is an away trip to St Peter’s/Paul’s of Dunboyne on the 14th of March
