On Friday evening Walterstown U14 girls hosted local rivals Skryne in the Under 14 Division 1 semi final.

The old cliche goes that goals win games and this tends to be true, and both sides signaled their intentions as each side bagged a goal apiece in the opening 2 minutes. On a beautiful evening the sides continued to exchange scored with Walterstown heading in a half time with a slender 1 point lead. (4-01 to 2-06)

After the break the sides remained neck and neck and it wasnt until late in the half when Srkyne score a magnicifent goal (any senior player would be proud of) to give them a 3 point lead. Walterstown pushed looking for the goal that would tie the match only to see their effort come off the post. In the end Skryne held on to win by 2 points in what was a great game of football from the neutral point of view.

Final Score Walterstown 6:04 Skryne 5:09
