Walterstown u 14 girls played Omahonys on Monday night last ( 20th ) in walterstown in a division 3 league game . Walterstown got off to a good start with a couple of early goals from Marie Mccarthy and Aoife Keegan .Omahonys then came back into the game with a couple if scores .  Mollie Browne chipped in with a couple of points  and with Kate Mccarthy and Ciara Killeen strong in the backs the girls went in with a five point lead at half time . In the second half Omahony came back strong at our girls and scored 3 goals but our girls rallied and scored 2 more goals through Marie Mc Carthy and another couple of points from Mollie Browne . The girls ran out five point winners . Final score Wal.5-7 Omahony-3-8 best for walterstown were Kate and Marie Mc Carthy Lisa Oneill Sophie Dempsey Sophia Giloohey Sinead Cox .

The second game of the week was played on the Fri 24th away to St pats . Walterstown got off to a bad start and conceded 1-1 in the first five minutes of the game . But the girls settled down and with some brilliant team play they scored 6-1 for the rest of the first half and only conceded 3 more points with five goals from Marie Mccarthy and one from Sarah Finnegan left Walterstown in a great position at half time. In the second half the girls played against a very strong wind and heavy rain . Some great team play and defending from Kate Mc Carthy , Ciara Killen, Mollie Browne, Sarah Heffernan and from midfield Leah Pesic and Sophie Dempsey drove the team on and the forwards scored six more points to leave walterstown winning by a final score of 6-7 to 1-11 . Best for the girls were Niamh Mcguinness , Eimear Farrelly, Kim White, Ailish Madden , Aoife Killeen and Lisa Oneill.

Walterstown Un 14 girls got their third win on the trot when they overcame a good Summerhill side on a wet and windy night in Walterstown last night.  The Summerhill girls got off to a good start playing with a strong wind and scored 1-3 before Wal.scored their first point from Marie Mccarthy and with good defending from the Walterstown  backs and another 1-2 from Marie Mccarthy walterstown went in 3 points down at half time . Half time score 1-6 to 1-3 . In the second half Walterstown moved mollie Browne to full back and Kate Mc Carthy to mid field and this swich seemed to get walterstown back in the game. Two goals from Kate Mc Carthy and some super points from Sophie Dempsey and Marie Mc Carthy seemed to give walterstown control of the game  but Summerhill rallied and scored another 2-1 to leave walterstown under pressure again. Despite being six points behind at one stage in the second half a brilliant team effort seen walterstown run out six point winners . Superb performances from Kate Mc Carthy Sophie Dempsey Eimear Farrelly, Lisa Oneill, Sarah Heffernan combined with some brilliant score taking from all the forwards seen walterstown take the Three points . Final score Wal. 4-10 Summerhill. 3-7
