Under 14’s match report 9/7/2015
Our under 14 lads traveled to Clan Na Gael for their second round fixture of the summer league.
What was expected to be a tough physical game certainly materialized , the sides traded points in the first half but Walterstown will feel they should have widened the gap at half time to a greater margin if the shooting boots were on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our lads seemed to be rejuvenated at half time taking the next couple of scores in the second half to open an 8 point lead, BUT……
Clan Na Gael started the fight back soon after with some will taking points and a goal !!!.
Clan got the game back to 2 points with 5 minutes to play , but Walterstown bounced back with a point with 3 minutes to go , as per games past the lads had to defend their lead with some sturdy defending to hold out and secure their second win in the competition , but only just😊 .
Final score – Clan Na Gael 2-5 V Waltersown 2-8, well done lads,
Next up for the Boys is a game against Don /Ashbourne next Thursday night at home.
