Like Ireland loosing out the the blue and white of the pumas on Sunday Afternoon, the Walterstown Under 15 boys lost out in a gripping encounter with blue and white of Navan O Mahoneys on Sunday Morning.
O Mahoneys got off to a great start with a goal and two points early on, then Walterstown drew back level through Barry O Connell (1p) Timi Sowunmi (1p) and a goal from Sam McCabe. O Mahoneys notched up another 2 points before the interval to take slender lead at half time.
The close battle continued in the second half with Walterstown edging in front midway through the second half after goals from Stephen Davis and Adam Treanor and points from Barry O Connell, & Stephen Davis. But O Mahoneys finished stronger and went on to wins by 4 points, the spoils ? a more preferential draw for the semi finals.
