Walterstown ladies win Division 8 title

Walterstown’s second adults ladies team claimed victory over Dunboyne on Friday evening last, to be crowned Meath LGFA Division 8 Football League champions.

The young Walterstown team, managed by Grainne Nulty, were the better team over the course of the 60 minutes and had they been more clinical on front of the posts, would have prevailed by. more.

The Blacks led 2-6 to 0-5 at half time thanks to goals from Sarah Hussey and Lisa O’Neill and indeed were full value for their seven point advantage.

After the turnaround and chasing the game, the visitors gave it their all. However, they too were guilty of not taking their chances and in the end, the Blacks prevailed on a 2-11 to 1-8 scoreline.

Well done to Grainne and the girls. See below gallery for all the picture’s from Friday’s big win.
