It is with regret that we are closing the club with immediate effect due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in Meath. This decision supersedes the one made earlier in the week and training for all at the club, adults and juveniles is now suspended. The club will monitor the situation on an ongoing basis and keep members up to date on the situation.

Please see below a statement from our club Chairman Stan Cooney:

Unfortunately, due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases nationally and specifically within our county, the club has taken the decision to suspend ALL activity with immediate effect. All underage and adult training is suspended. This decision will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Meanwhile, all commercial and outside bookings of our astroturf facilities are also suspended.
The safety of our members and players is paramount at this time and I would sincerely like to thank you all for your understanding and cooperation.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our coaches, players, volunteers and Covid Supervisors for ensuring the health and safety of all at the club was to the forefront since we returned to play.
To our communities in Johnstown and Walterstown; stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to Walterstown GFC in the not too distant future.

mise le meas,
Stan Cooney
Walterstown GFC
