The heavens opened just before this match in Walterstown last wed night so conditions underfoot were not ideal. However this was a good competitive match despite the slippery conditions., Ballinabrackey got off to the better start and were 2 points to nil up after 10 minutes before Conor O Sullivan pointed for Walterstown. At half time Ballinabrackey were 4 points to 3 ahead.
Both sides seemed to handle the conditions better in the second half. After Ballinabrackey had a player sent off after 10 minutes Walterstown seemed to be getting on top. However Walterstown had cornerback Colm Reilly dismissed only 5 minutes later. From then on Ballinabrackey slowly gained control of the game and when Ref Andrew Smith blew for full time the Bracks were 1-13 to 11 ahead
