Walterstown man John McCarthy has been unveiled as the new Meath U20 Football manager for 2022. He will be joined by his fellow club men Joey Farrelly, Paul McCarthy and Justin McCarthy, along with Colm Coyle and Sean Kelly.
John managed the Meath minors of 2020 to Leinster glory this year after long delays in competition due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They young Royals got the better of Offaly in the final in Mullingar in the provincial decider in late June. They eventually fell to Derry in the All Ireland semi final in Newry.
John, will be joined by our current U13 boys, U15 and senior ladies coach Joey Farrelly as coach and by our current development squad boss Paul McCarthy and Justin McCarthy as part of the backroom team. Meanwhile, former Meath great Colm Coyle and Sean Kelly complete the managerial team for the 2022 season.
All at the club would like to wish them every success in their new roles.
