Walterstown 9:11 Trim 1:8 18/08/2015
Walterstown Girls continued to impress in the Ladies Junior B Championship on this beautiful Tuesday evening in Trim. It was their third victory in a row and while the home team continued to battle right to the very end, the manner and style of Walterstown Ladies team play and all round effort was remarkable considering where the team has come from over the last couple of months.
At the throw in, Trim were quickest out of the blocks with 2 early points but Walterstown responded with a goal and a point in quick succession. Our girls took control of the game from then on scoring 6:6 to Trim’s 1:2 up to half time.
The second half was much the same as Walterstown dominated in every sector of the park but to Trim’s credit, they battled on never dropping their heads. They along with Walterstown were missing players and nobody will be surprised if Trim are in the shake-up at the play-off stages.
The final score on this sunny evening was Walterstown 9:11 Trim 1:8. Our next opponents are Boardmills this Sunday at 4:00 in Walterstown and I know the girls would appreciate a big local support.
