Walterstown 01/09/16 @ 7pm

Walterstown Ladies took on Trim in the Semi final of the Jnr B championship on Thursday evening. Having met twice so far this year the score was 1 win a piece so nothing was being taken for granted.

Walterstown got off to a great start and found themselves 2 goals up inside six minutes, both goals scored by Captain Julie Donnellan. Walterstown took a 2:02 to 0:03 lead into the break.

After the break Walterstown continued to push on and the scores started to mount up. Mollie Grey showed great skill and dexterity when off balance she managed to get a hand to the ball and send into the back of the net for Walterstown’s third goal. Trim did managed to grab a goal through their number 11, their main threat all evening, ten minutes from the end, but it was too little to late as Walterstown ran out comfortable winners.

The ladies now face Skryne who beat Wolfe Tonnes, to set up a neighbour v neighbour final.

Fact: Walterstown have scored 138 points to reach the final & Julie Donnellan has scored 43 of these.
