We are almost there folks! It’s almost time for Walterstown GFC to return to play. On Monday evening we will open our gates for our juvenile players and we are so excited to have them all back.
Before Monday, however, we and all our juvenile parents, must ensure their proverbial houses are in order. The first step in that process is the GAA’s Covid-19 Club Education eLearning Module which is available here. This must be completed by parents. When you have completed the course we ask all parents to take a screenshot of the certificate and send it to your child’s coach and or the Covid Supervisor associated with your child’s/children’s teams.
Thereafter, parents need to remember to complete the GAA’s Health Questionnaire on behalf of their child at least an hour before training is due to start. There have been some changes to the questionnaire from last year so it is advised that parents log in to their accounts prior to Monday to avoid any confusion.
If you have an account from last year you can use the same username and password and if it’s your first time logging in, you simply need to set up an account and fill the questionnaire before every training session. You can find the health questionnaire here
We would like to remind our members that only one parent is permitted to attend a child’s training session. This rule is stipulated by the GAA’s Return to Play document. We also ask parents to practice social distancing when on site and to please make use of the eight new sanitising stations that have been erected at the club.
Return to Play: Thank you
Finally, a word of thanks to our our amazing volunteers who have stepped forward to fill the role of Covid Supervisors for our juvenile teams this year; some brand new and some returning to the role from last year. We literally couldn’t open our gates without you guys.
We know that by this stage most of our Covid Supervisors will have completed online training for the role and have been well versed by our juvenile committee and our coaching committee. However, should you need any more assistance please just ask us; we are here to make sure each and every one of us is as prepared as possible for Monday evening and beyond! If you have any queries email them to our juvenile secretary Mike at secretarybng.walterstown.meath@gaa.ie.
A full breakdown of the role of Covid Supervisor can be found here.
And that’s it everyone! Our coaches are ready; our grounds are ready; are you? You will find your child’s training times here.
See you all Monday evening!
