St Ultans V Walterstown Sunday 20 March 2016-03-21 AFL Round 4
Walterstown travelled the short distance to St Ultans and a sunny spring afternoon to take on St Ultans in Round 4 of the AFL Division 2 hoping to continue on from the last win.
The lads were missing several key players but despite this went in at half time 4 points to the good, and they also forced the Ultans keeper to produce 2 good saves during the first half.
The second half didn’t go Walterstowns way with Keeper John Davis forced off only a few minutes into the half, who was replaced by Ciaron Lydon, Ultans began to put on the pressure scoring three points in a row. Walterstown then failed to convert two frees in a row, and regretted this shortly afterwards when Ultans scored the only goal of the game 12 mins into the second half. Ultans now had the momentum and went on to notch up 5 points to Walterstowns 1point after the goal. Walterstown did up the tempo during the final few minutes scoring another 2 points but ended up losing by 4 points.
Final Score St Ultans 1:11 Walterstown 0:10
