Walterstown U14 Girls kicked off their season last Saturday, 10th February 2018, with a challenge match against St. Pat’s in Stamullen. It was a cold blustery morning and with the wind at their back, Walterstown got off to a great start. The first half ended 4-2 to nill with great performances by Ella and Abbie Farrelly, Sinead Traynor and the two Rebecca’s (Tolan and Roche).
Unfortunately, the wind was against us in the second half and while the girls fought hard, St. Pat’s stormed ahead with flurry of goals. Zoey Harte, Tiernach McFadden and Grace Deegan, to name but a few, played with great determination with Zoey adding two more goals to the Walterstown score sheet.
However the full time whistle blew with a final score of 7-2 to 7-5, St. Pat’s winning out on the day. Onwards and upwards girls!
