Well done to our Walterstown GFC U8 boys who took part in the first ever Inter County Blitz at Kilmacud Crokes GAA. Walterstown had 2 U8 teams taking part in the 32 team tournament. After a slow start in both teams first games, the boys really started to get into the games and play some great football. Throughout the day they showed fantastic determination and team spirit and we could certainly see the confidence, belief and momentum grow which ended in both teams winning their last games of the group stages. Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse with the final games postponed. However this didn’t dampen spirit of any of the teams who entered and everybody player went home with a medal. Sam Maguire even made an appearance and all the boys got a chance to lift the cup (even the coaches couldn’t resist 😊)
We would like to thank Kilmacud Crokes GAA on organising a great day for all the children and families. The organisation and planning of over 300 children was fantastic and it was great to see a “Healthy Eating Policy” in place on the day.
Well done again to all our Walterstown U8 boys, as always their behaviour and attitude was excellent and they represented the club so well.
